Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an adapted form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) designed to treat mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, and self-harm behaviors. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with concepts of mindfulness and acceptance.

The core idea of DBT is that people often experience intense emotions and struggle to cope with them effectively. DBT helps individuals learn skills to manage their emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, tolerate distress, and live in the present moment.

DBT teaches individuals to identify patterns of behavior that are harmful or unhelpful and work on changing those behaviors. DBT works to help individuals develop practical skills for managing everyday life challenges. Through skills training and therapeutic exercises, individuals can learn to respond more effectively to stressors and emotional difficulties.
