Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that contribute to mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, eating disorders and substance use. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by changing the way we think about certain situations, we can change how we feel and behave.

What might it look like if you engage in CBT? For example, imagine that you are struggling with feeling not good enough. Your counselor would assist in helping you further explore this thought, how it negatively impacts them and what triggers it in the first place. You will learn skills to tolerate distress, change your thinking and change your behaviors. Your counselor will assist you in identifying ways to practice these skills in between sessions.

After completing CBT based treatment, clients often report a reduction in symptoms. Using skills helps individuals to feel empowered to make lasting changes.
